Position Summary:

Position Summary
Responsible for supervising underwriting activity in the Commercial Loan Portfolio for new loan requests, and assisting the Credit Officer in the supervision of other commercial credit activities, including, renewals, extensions and annual reviews for prospects and existing customers submitted by Commercial Lenders. Provide concurring approval authority for commercial loans as specified by Loan Policy. Directly supervises the Sr. Credit Analyst, Credit Analyst and Analyst in training. Provide guidance to Portfolio Managers in the performance of the underwriting process for renewals, annual reviews and new loans in the house portfolio of existing borrowers.

Essential Responsibilities 
Supervise the analytical process, to assure that loans write-ups are completed in a timely manner and are accurate and concise in content. 
Act as concurring loan approval authority on loans in accordance with the loan policy. 
Supervise the analytical staff with the goal of improving quality and accuracy of work. 
Coach and train the analytical staff to be the future commercial lenders and portfolio managers of the Bank. 
Assist the Portfolio Managers by providing analytical support. 
Monitor borrowers compliance with loan covenants in the commercial loan portfolio.

Typical Job Duties 
Provide critical analysis in providing concurring approval authority for loan requests. 
Support Lenders and Portfolio Managers in due diligence activity. 
Assist the Credit Officer/SVP in the monitoring and reporting on the commercial loan portfolio’s performance, including delinquencies, maturing notes, renewals, trends, risk ratings and covenant reporting. 
Prepare loan credit packages. 
Provide back up support to the Credit Officer. 
Participate in customer/prospect calls if needed. 
Supervise and develop staff.

Job Requirements 
Bachelors Degree (finance, accounting or business administration focus) or equivalent. 
Successful completion of a Commercial Credit Training Program. 
Minimum of 8 years of commercial lending or underwriting experience. 
Strong working knowledge of accounting. 
Adept at financial analysis. 
Understanding of Risk Management principals. 
Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. 
Computer literate including One Point, Excel, Word, Fiserv and other relevant software. 
Supervisory experience

Flexibility in work schedule. 
Critical member of team. Must be reliable, dependable, and maintain a high degree of flexibility. 
Must be able to maneuver stairs in the event of an emergency.




Internal and External Contacts
1. Primary contacts will be Lenders, direct reports and Portfolio Managers.
2. Secondary contacts primarily include external customers and prospects.
